In Fla. gov's binder, Jim Morrison shouts 'Love!'

Gov. Charlie Crist wants to posthumously pardon him of indecent exposure and…See More

Welcome to Area Light Online Social Networking!

VISIONARY PURPOSE - To build a "social networking" site that is bigger, brighter, and ultimately better at "social networking"- one person at a time if we have to. If there is one good criticism of social networks, it's going to be that too many are dead sites with an average participation less than 10 members. You may have the perfect fully loaded and free application technology at your fingertips (we think you do now with Ning!), but that doesn't mean you are actually networking. So the basic idea here is quite simple. Represent your interests, sites, and communities on a central network- Area Light!

ENABLING OBJECTIVES - "Sign Up" and "Sign In" often! Enjoy personal service upon joining, develop a social networking profile to your preferences, meet members, open discussions, build groups, promote events, share media, chat, and be a part of something you make great. It can be that easy! However, in order for this to work, we recommend you join us in accomplishing a shared vision. We'll keep the specific guidelines open as much as possible- so as not to insult your intelligence- and reserve the right to ban anyone we don't like! We will be proactively recruiting and supporting members who we know can drive the intent of our world-class vision. Good to go? Here it is in a nutshell:

1) We simply want to make the best social networking site on the internet. We want the best concepts, quality, and quantity represented right here.

2) We want to promote Ning for making this awesome application free, available, and easy for everyone. It has the potential to outshine Facebook and Myspace. Let's make it happen.

3) We want to be a hub where other social networks gather. Come in and shed some light on your areas of interest for the benefit of the entire community. Interact with others of similar interest. Connect with them here and on eachother's sites.

4) We want people to create groups based on geographic areas and then to physically network with as many people in those areas as we can get to join Area Light. It doesn't have to be a specific city. For example, we showcase Northern California as NorCal- a great area to live, work, and do business in. More specifically, you will find us promoting directly to our local community Chico, California. Altogether, we will have the basis for an online global community right here on this social network.

5) We want to involve people on multiple levels from personal, professional, and organizational. So come here to hang out and explore your individual interests, represent your professions, put your skills to work, and promote your websites, businesses, and causes.

PROFIT MOTIVE - Let us know if you would like to be featured. We will do this for free, at our discretion, on a first come/ first serve basis, and put priority on those who inspire and/or pay us! We definately want businesses to come in to sponsor and be proactive in this community. Contact us if you would like to make a donation and we will be happy to feature you.

BENEFIT MOTIVE - Everyone, make this site what you want it to be- but make it for everyone, make it a great collection of communities, and do your part to make it the best online social network in the world!

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions. Upon signing up, we will contact you to personally welcome you, help you get started developing your social networking profile, and be there for you as your online guide throughout your experience with Area Light. Explore with us!

Yours,

Area Light (Just call me @ or A if you prefer)
