Area Light Explorer is our idea for an interactive online social network based magazine. We like to explore people, places, things, and figure this is right along the lines of intelligence based search platforms that will be redefining the way people orient to what is going on and what to look into. So as we explore Area Light and the world beyond, we are going to be writing about what we find and what we think about it. Check out our discussion Area Light Explores below and follow along as we talk about the world as we encounter it. Feel free to join in to comment or start your own exploration thread.
Most people are familiar with Wikipedia, the cooperative user driven knowledge-base. We learned the creator of that platform is starting an intelligent search platform called Wiki Search. The results you pull up on a search are based on what users of the platform have searched and feel is most relevant or useful based on a given search criteria. We want to do essentially the same thing except driven by Area Light members. We're going to be a little more flexible in supporting self-generated content and discretionary opinions. Keep in mind, this group is going to be driven by personal perspectives on what we think is interesting and our opinions/ thoughts respectively.
It's an online social networking experiment. We decided to organize our thoughts sequentially based on what we are looking into and when- on a single thread. So by looking into Area Light Explores, you can follow what we are exploring on a day to day basis. We may explore more than one thing and jump back and forth. In order to organize the information and resources we find, we decided to create our own wiki called the
Area Light Collective. It's what we like to call a Holonic Knowledge-Base and you can contribute to it by joining upon request.
We intend to organize the Collective around our main themes here on Area Light...personal, professional, organizational, and geographical. The idea is to establish it as an easy reference to anything and everything from our own perspectives. So keep in mind we will need to create a little more structure to optimize the end-user utility and service visitors get out of it. We could use your help with the project.
