An Area Light Group Tour for our Nigerian Friends
Welcome to Area Light...your home for personal service social networking!
Area Light Home: If you have not joined our home group, please accept our encouragement to do so. It is the perfect place to talk about what you want out of the community, meet other new members, and talk about anything without worrying about how it fits into the site concept. Area Light Home is the place where we hope new members will orient to the site as they work on setting up their profiles, groups, discussions, and so on. There you will find many discussions intended for you and where you can interact with Area Light Member Services as your personal guide to the site.
When you joined Area Light, we contacted you to offer you a one-on-one tour of the site. The offer still stands and we hope to entertain you as our guest as we show you around to all that is being put into the social network as a service to you. By all means you don't have to engage us on that level, but what we can learn by working with you will help us optimize your experience and tailor what we present to meet your specific interests and preferences. Simply click on my picture and you will be directed to my profile. Leave a comment, or reply to our original greeting by using the "comment back" feature. At the same time, we want you to know Area Light Member Services is still in a (BETA) phase of research and development. Working with us you should see us evolve much faster.
So putting together this group is just one of the aspects of service directed at "you" the end-user member on Area Light. We've noticed you come in and just how many of you list Nigeria as your location. This is terrific for us as Area Light features four central themes of networking...personal, professional, organizational, and by geographic location. The community is set up for you to enjoy at your discretion. However, on occasion, Area Light Member Services will help you set up groups etc, even taking our own initiative to get things started.
Due to the sheer volume of new members from or related to Nigeria, we thought we would go ahead and start this Nigeria group for you. This is our way of rolling out the red carpet for all of you. You see, Area Light is responsive to the members who comprise our community. We have even recently posted a video about a famous Nigerian football (soccer) player on our main Welcome page to let you know this is a Nigeria friendly community. What do you think of it?
We were also thinking this would be a project that sets a tone for other geographic based communities on Area Light. We highly encourage anyone interested to help us build this group, and we may even be able to extend administrative privelages to allow for direct editting of the main Nigeria page. Also, you might find it interesting to see what the creator of Area Light is up to in creating a group and even Ning social network based out of where he is from in Northern California. More to follow on that as we get into the tour. Next, we are going to invite all the Nigerian members we have seen join lately to meet us here for the group tour. We will return with information about Area Light that we feel useful to present to new members. However, for this event, we are particularly looking forward to your feedback and involvement. For that, we expect we will have an opportunity to present information and resources on Area Light based on what you will find most interesting and useful first.
