Area Light Explorer

Here is one of my favorites. Bank of America Small Business Online Community I would rate this one at the top of my list. Today I ran a test ad on the site and I bet the experts in Advertising, Sales, Marketing will have some very constructive advice for me.

If you are vistting in response to my test ad- my SEO experiment is based on search results I have noticed when doing research for my own business concepts outside this one. I noticed my thread titles were coming up at the top of Google lists because they were on the SBOC. I think this may have to do with so many users and link backs but am unsure. I ran my test ad with Area Light Online Business Communities in the tile to see what results I would get. Looks like they tagged my thread for approval by a moderator. So we'll see if it goes through and what results come of it.

I'd also like to introduce our first member, Paris. I met her on another online business network.

O.K. the post went through. Google results for "online business communities" puts me in at 7th on first page. By name Area Light with small business I come up first. I'd call the experiment a success but I don't know why!

So now we have some members from the SBOC and from another network in sta.rtup.biz. I highly recommend exploring both. The SBOC has some problems with community organization- there is a lot of questionable posting causing dubious ramifications toward the deisred culture. I have been involved in some discussions pertaining to this and offered my own brand of solution. You are welcome to find me there as user snipperred. You can view my last posts "Online Business Communities" as a quick orientation and introduction to the community if you like.

Now sta.rtup.biz (not to be confused with startup.com) is another one of my favorites. This groupis on the Ning platform and I think does a great job of influencing the desired cultuire of that business networking community. The SBOC may be a little better at getting into real world business matters. However, not so good at social networking. I recieved a general message from the Sa.rtup.biz team suggesting all members "digg this" to get a social ranking and demonstrate the power of their networked organization. I like that a lot. I've even had some direct correspondence with the management staff. The SBOC management is a little less approachable. Interesting dynamics in my opinion.

I highly recommend looking into different networks and representing your experiences with them in this group. I would like to see representation of each network in groups made in Area Light or on your own social networks and then linked back to here for the benefit of this community. Oh yeah, I'd like to be at the forefront!

We have some French Canadians here I think from the SBOC. I have a "friend" in my Star.tup.biz community who is also French Canadian and has been doing an outstanding job building a following. He recently sent me an invitation to a group that seems to focus on translating between English and Frnech as a sort of answer to extending business interests internationally. I think that is worth checking out.

Quick note: the friend mentioned above has now joined Area Light. Make sure to welcome Stephane when you can. He has also started his own online business community- Phenomenal Business Peoples. Check out the review I did on Area Light Explorer.
