I'm already looking past Thiago Silva as St. Pierre's next opponent after tonight's win. I'm not even sure what the weight class difference is, but let's find out for sure who the best pound for pound fighter in the world is. BJ Penn stepped up to meet Georges anyway.

Consequently, I find the level of improvement demonstrated by St. Pierre at this level quite inspiring. Randy was doing this too I think. Machida seems to be making some strides too. So looks to me like they are focussing in on the right details. Regardless, the victories are speaking for themselves. It's great to have some world-class athletes and training methodologies coming to the forefront. I particularly liked Georges' commentary on how his game plan was to isolate on and weaken Penn's boxing shoulders by wrestling him...and then to take him apart in the stand up. It appears he rather dismantled Penn more completely than that and BJ's corner threw in the towel before it got to that point just before the start of the fifth round. Pretty awesome stuff.

Too bad for BJ, even though he was outclassed this day, I thought he represented his own improvement ethic there just fine. That was a victory in itself suince his previous loss to St. Pierre is easily attributed to his burnt out mentality and lack of training. No, he turned that around pretty well from that point. He simply hasn't kept pace with GSP. It'll be interesting to see what he does after this loss.

Georges St. Pierre is a UFC God!!!!!!!! :). Thanks for sharing a bit about last nights fight. Since I don't have cable anymore I didn't watch it and havent' been able to for months. I will have to live vicariously through your discussions :)
