There was an artist I know that featured a series of works called, "Intimate Conversations". The point being for some people it is the moments with friends that makes them happiest, there are those who can match into conversations with the richness of a book, and just knowing where to go to find substantive dialogue on whatever you happen to be thinking about could make my social network really take off on a lot of levels.
Your social network seems laid out in concept much like one of Laura Mackenzie I have explored. She has this syndicated show about traveling the world which I think makes a great compliment to what I want to do here. However, she doesn't have a social network integrated with her site. What I liked about her site was that it featured her as the media personality, the show was branded with her name, and her proprietary personality is what makes her exposes so great. I can see your social network evolving that way.
Best,
Anthony
I just received your 7 Reasons to Write Down Your Goals link and thought the article was great. I wasn't sure if you wanted comments directly to the article or if you preferred those to be stand alone segments.
Certain aspects struck me. I believe goal oriented people generally accomplish more of what they want in life. So I liked how you tied it in to taking control. You noted that knowing what you are working toward helps you recognize opportunities you might otherwise have missed. I also liked how you mentioned arriving at your goals in style.
Very interesting. I see you are still doing your radio segments and maybe some web-based interviews. I think that's all great and I know we have a lot we can align on. Keep up the great work!
Best,
Anthony
Thanks for joining the community. We look forward to getting to know you. Let us know if you have any questions about setting up on this network. We are at your service.
While you get situated, let us encourage you to join our group, Area Light Home. There check out our update discussion "Friday Spark!" if you'd like to get caught up on our network activity/ history. We also have a check-in discussion you can use there called "Hi There!" - great if you are ever short of time or just want to stop in and say hi before engaging any of our groups, forums, members directly.
We are interested to know what brought your attention to Area Light and what your interests and hopes are for being a part of this network. We have our own vision and a variety of courtesy services we are more than happy to share with you. Let us know and we can give you a personal tour.
Also, we like to feature each member of the community as a courtesy for joining. We will be setting up a casual discussion thread for you in our group, Coffee with the Oracle. There you can take the lead in sharing about yourself and be assured to get some reciprocal participation.
We have lots of ideas like this we hope sets our site apart as an online social network of choice. Let us know what you think. Beyond that, we recommend you take a quick look at our vision statement on the MAIN page for an idea of the potential we are hoping you can help us materialize. Also, keep an eye on recent activity and the chat page. We do our part to make sure there's always something going on for you to dive into if you are so inclined.
We are just getting started! This community is what you make of it. Let's make it great! You are encouraged to create your own discussions, forums, groups, etc. We are even at your service to walk you through setting up your own social network on Ning if you want, just as we did-for free. Or if you already have one we can showcase it here.
Stacey, we welcome your friendship and want you to know you can be yourself here, talk shop about your professional interests, or represent your business to the community if you have one. We are avid explorers of anything and everything that can be found online or in person. Check out our latest project in our group Area Light Explorer. As always, please make yourself at home to explore, interact, and create here on Area Light.
Yours, Area Light Member Services
